Richard Steinberg currently serves as Manager, Electric Vehicle Operations and Strategy at BMW of North America, LLC, a position he has held since July 1, 2009. In this capacity, he is responsible for leadership of the BMW Group Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) programs in the US market including the MINI E and the BMW ActiveE, as well as the new vehicles coming from the recently announced i-brand that arrives in 2013 – the BMW i3 (formerly known as the MegaCity Vehicle) and the BMW i8 (previously shown as the Vision EfficientDynamics vehicle).

Most recently Steinberg held the position of Manager, Product and Aftersales Strategy for MINI USA, beginning March, 2001. In this role, Steinberg was responsible for strategic planning to determine future product concepts, features and technologies and develop pricing and volume strategies for the brand’s model lineup.

Steinberg has been with BMW since 1997.
