Rick Longobart, presently employed by the City of Santa Ana California, as the Corporate Facilities, Fleet, Central Stores Manager and previously the Fleet Services Superintendent for the City of Inglewood, was a former Facility and Equipment Maintenance Supervisor for the City of El Segundo.

A native of Culver City California, Mr. Longobart attended Los Angeles Technical College and Phoenix University. Mr. Longobart experience, consist of Fleet and Facility maintenance, Hazardous Waste, AB32, 2202 AQMD Rule, and AB989 Recycling Program. He is responsible for the implemented an automated fleet, fuel management system, Energy Management Systems (EMS) that streamlined the Divisions operation by using environmentally sound business practices that decreased waste and reduced costs. Because of his leadership, the City has saved millions of dollars and received certification from both the State of California for its outstanding maintenance records and vehicle repairs; and the Department of Toxic Substance for its excellent environmental operations and has been recognized as “Fleet Manager of Year” and one of the Top 100 Fleets in America.

Throughout the year Mr. Longobart has been instrumental in adopting programs that have improved efficiency and streamline the operation, which consist of the following:

  • Integrated seven software solutions into one program to reduce cost
  • Adoption of AB32, Green House Gas study
  • Adoption of CEI Group Accident Collision Program
  • Implemented web base Motor Pool reservation system
  • Installed state of our Alternative fueling station and,
  • Improved fleet utilization through technology
